We loved our stay at Hale Aloe in Puamana! The condo owners were very attentive and quick to respond to any questions we had. This unit is on the mauka side of Puamana so there is a bit more road noise from the Hanoapiilani Highway. The condo was well stocked and is older, but the owners have taken great care of it. The ocean was literally just seconds away, a very short walk from the front door. We absolutely loved our time here. Our daughters loved swimming in the ocean, as well as spending a lot of time in the pools. Puamana is such a beautiful place!
It was with an extremely heavy heart and fear of uncertainty that we were forced to evacuate due to the fire, and hurricane force winds, on August 8th, 2023, that decimated Lahaina town. The owners maintained contact with us during the evacuation and ultimately refunded the reservation nights we were unable to use. It was a tragic and abrupt end to our time on the island, but we look forward to the day Lahaina rebuilds and can come stay in Puamana again. In the meantime, we will be praying for the people of Lahaina and all of Maui.

This place was cozy and so well appointmented! If we ever return, we would stay here again. All three teens fit very well upstairs. The back patio was wonderful.

The townhouse was comfortable and nicely appointed. The beach chairs, cooler and beach towels really came in handy. I highly recommend snorkeling at the sunken pier at Mala Ramp in Lahaina. Lots of fish and turtles!

Nice neighborhood w pools, tennis, pickle all court and 3 private beach access points. Good sunset view from pool /clubhouse. While you are not oceanfront, you can walk from the unit to ocean without shoes on - close & easy. Walk to downtown was a 20 min. Everything inside unit was good.

We come to Puamana every year but don't always stay at the same unit, I would come back to this one for sure. Everything was as advertised, and I would recommend this property to my family and friends. It would have been nice to have aluminum foil and or plastic wrap, but it was not a deal breaker. Whoever cleans the property could do a little better, the ceiling an in one of the bathrooms was covered with gross dust. We went all over the island, but I like West Maui. Leoda's has good food and cute small pies that are delicious. We also went to Hula Grill, Leilani's, Monkeypod, Kimo's Lahaina Fish Company and Dukes. We also went to Honu Oceanside, but it is not as good as it used to be and the prices are high for the amount of food you got. We went snorkeling alot and loved Honolua and Kapalua on the west side.

We did a family trip to Maui with four people staying in this house and the rest in another house down the street and we had a wonderful time! The house was comfortable and well-equipped. It's directly across the street from a beach entrance and close to one of the community pools. Would stay again!

This unit was well situated for older children to take the upstairs with adequate space and privacy for parents downstairs. The master bath is amazing. We already knew we loved this location and have rented several units here in the past, this will remain one of our favorites in the neighborhood.

This unit was spotless and well appointed. The owners have upgraded the kitchen, bathrooms and installed a new split air conditioning unit. My wife & I would stay in this 2 bedroom unit again.

Overall our stay was amazing! The unit was very clean and cozy.
The location is great. It is very close to the beach and right next to the pool.
The soundproofing from the outside is very good.
We really enjoyed our long weekend!
Only thing is for local guests who bring 2 cars, 1 car needs to be parked outside of the gate in the neighborhood. The owner has a car parked there and Puamana only allows 2 cars per unit.
Also the oven did not work. It wouldn't heat past 100 degrees.

Comfortable furniture, attractive decorations. Bathroom showers are updated but did not have any safety bars that we needed for an older family member In our party. Other than that we had everything we needed. Thank you for a great vacation.

I like most of the features of 139-2 I have stayed there 3 or 4 times since it was remodeled. Two things that would be nicer....A bathroom in the loft and reconnecting the house phone. This place is perfect for a couple and a few kids. I have stayed there by myself and with family or friends. The interior has space to be together or get off in a corner by yourself. It's close to everything I need...the beach, club house and the ocean pool. The other 2 pools are handy too. Best for me is the fact that a close friend lives next door!

This is a nice place close to downtown Lahaina. We often just walked to Lahaina to avoid dealing with parking. The sunsets from the neighborhood were spectacular. One issue, the hide-a-bed had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. Otherwise, the unit was very clean and functional. We enjoyed our stay.

Second time that we rent the unit. Fell in love with unit and the west side of Maui last year. Strategic location with access to great beach parks, Lahaina, restaurants and more. Dave and Kathryn will take care of every detail since the moment you book your trip and follow up until the day of the checkout. Already booked the unit again latter this Summer. Great for families.

Our unit was beside the highway by a stop light which was a bit noisy at times but not a major problem. But the resort was beautiful and close to the ocean .

This unit was just perfect! And looks exactly like the pictures- everything we needed was there and the location was the best- close to the big pool, club house and oceanfront but not on the street. It was so awesome waking up in the master bedroom to those beautiful Plumeria trees! And the loft was ideal for my brother. I would definitely love to stay here again. Just amazing!!! Mahalo

My teenage daughter, parents and I where are overly delighted with our vacation experience at Puamana. Our beautiful condo with two bedrooms one being upstairs gave us the pleasant space needed to help our vacation to go smoothly. Even after seeing the glorious photos and videos online I was absolutely amazed with the enormous gorgeous palms reaching out to kiss the ocean, the silky sandy beach, the blooming & fragrant tropical flowers everywhere, the well kept grounds and the close proximity to Puamana State Park and the lovely Lahaina! I am confident if we ever are able to return to Hawaii, we will definitely choose the Puamana Resort! I am giving a four for location as next time I would save up for an oceanfront.

Property was in excellent conditions, clean, new appliances and furniture. It is located in a gated community with plenty of amenities and close to Lahaina.

Overall a wonderful experience, the property is well managed, well equipped, perfect location close to Lahaina centre, and great beaches for swimming and snorkeling. We loved the Web based app providing all pertinent information for checking in and out and other useful Maui facts and info. Points for improvement, more sturdy mattresses would be nice, the sun umbrella was broken, unit suffers from highway noise especially with open windows. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This beautifully remodeled home away from home was perfectly done and appointed. I'd definitely stay again. The only suggestion is to have more blankets and pillows available.

We have stayed in Puamana at least 8 times in the past decade, as we love the safety and security of the gated community, its perfect surf break, and its close proximity to downtown Lahaina. This is one of the nicest units we've stayed in. It has been tastefully remodeled and stylishly furnished. The owners promptly replied to all our inquiries. The only downside is a slight bit of road noise from the main road leading into Lahaina. We never heard it sleeping, only if we were relaxing in or around the unit.

Been there, will do it again

Everything you imagine Hawaii to be and more. Gorgeous swimming beach and pools (with no one around) on property and 10 mins walk to best part of West Maui.

Puamana is a great place for families and a good spot to explore the island.
The house is nice and has a new kitchen and new bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped -I even found a blender!

During our 5 night stay, we were very satisfied with our rental. It was very clean, stocked and comfortable. Bathrooms & kitchen are upgraded. The entire condo was a perfect size for 4 adults and 2 children. We were very surprised to see that there were beach toys and other things for our kids to use during the stay which made it that much nicer. We would definitely recommend to others and hope we can use again for future trips. The only thing I would say that might need an upgrade or to be changed is the upstairs bed. Wasn't as comfortable as I would've liked it to have been and it is a little tight up there when trying to change since the ceiling is low. We bonked our heads a couple of times on the ceiling. Other than that, no complaints. We really enjoyed the community as well. Perfect location - close to downtown Lahaina and walking distance to the beach/water. The community was clean and well maintained. We can't wait to go back. Thank you so much for accommodating our stay. It made our trip that much better.

If you do not want the overcrowded feel of a hotel or resort, this is definitely the place to stay. The Puamana community is beautiful and quiet. The pools were all very well kept, relaxing and not very busy. As for 139-2, it was very clean and had remodeled bathrooms and kitchen. Previous reviews noted the noise from the highway and while you can hear it sitting outside, it never bothered us inside. It is not located on the ocean, but is a very close walk. The only negative I would say is the bedding. It advertised that it can sleep six but in reality, you should have no more than two couples unless you have kids. The beds are pretty hard and the pull out couch is not comfortable at all. I would definitely recommend though if you want a reasonably priced place to stay in Maui.

Our first time in the Lahaina area - loved it. The Puamana complex is a terrific gated community with well kept grounds and good amenities. We used the pools and frequently walked the grounds. Tennis was available and looked well done. The beach extends the length of the property but was rocky and short. Perhaps the water is higher this time of year? Walking into town was certainly doable (we did), though on a hot day some might balk at the idea.

The condo itself, overall, was very good. Everything was clean and relatively new. The main floor air conditioning was terrific - effective and quiet. Master king bed was comfy once we replaced the pilled sheets with different ones. Master and main bathrooms were excellent - loved the showers! Kitchen appliances are fairly new and above average. All the kitchen utensils you need were present. No kitchen table if this is important to you - we managed without.

The upstairs loft was somewhat disappointing. We would think to attract tenants the loft bed would be at least a queen size to accommodate adults - it's only a small double. Also, the loft air conditioning is poorly done. It does provide some relief but could have been positioned for better efficiency. The A/C unit is also noisy.
We never had neighbors during our stay so don't know how sound traveled between units.

There is a nice large deck area. The patio furniture is pretty average but usable. During our stay the plumeria tree was dropping its leaves which covered the deck each day.

It should be noted that this unit is very close to the main highway leading into Lahaina and traffic noise if fairly constant. It bothered us to some degree - other times you learn to tune it out. If you spend a lot of time on the deck or with open windows, this may be a concern.

Beach toys, chairs, mats, towels, etc. were all available, though we made limited use except for towels.

Overall a comfortable unit with good amenitie

Our family of 7 (ages 3-70) fit very comfortably in the unit. It was clean, cool, and convenient! We visited every part of the island throughout our week long trip and it was always nice to come "home" to such a nice, safe place. Not to mention the amazing price! If/when we return to Maui, we will definitely be seeking out the same unit.

Nicely remodeled home, very clean, lots of room. The only issue we had was the master bath glass shower door. There was something wrong with the hinge that made a very loud popping sound (sounded like glass could actually break) when you opened and closed it. I talked to someone Monday morning they came and looked at it and said they would be back Tuesday to fix it but never returned.

Puamana is someplace I have been staying for nearly 20 years. I have stayed in several different unites and 139-2 is one of the better ones.

This is the second time that we have stayed at Puamana, and it is largely how we remembered it from our initial stay in 2000 while in Maui on our honeymoon. This time, however, we brought our kids with us who were visiting Maui for their first time. Like 2000, our visit to Maui this time was excellent and our stay at Puamana played a large role in that overall experience.

This unit has been well renovated and is well-equipped with kitchen ware, snorkels, beach towels, books, boogie boards. There is no dining table indoors, and sitting at the lanai table is noisy because of nearby traffic noise. The upstairs loft is hot, though there is an older AC unit. Managers and maintenance staff were very responsive.

Upon arriving the unit was extremely clean, well appointed, remodeled and we were happy with short walk to the beach.The free Wi-Fi was a bonus as was the in unit washer and dryer. The beds were a little uncomfortable so that was my only complaint. Other than that the place was very nice!

This was one of two properties we rented this time while we stayed at Puamana. The unit has recently been renovated so everything is new. The owners were kind enough to have a few boogie board, snorkeling gear and beach toys available for guest use. There was a king bed with master bath and another full bath on the main floor. The loft area is very private with a full or queen bed and another area in the loft with a cushion that can be used for another bed. The living room couch was able to sleep one person as well. Our kids were moving around between the two units so it was nice to have the extra space when needed. No location in Puamana is a bad location - every spot is beautiful. The unit is closer to the main road so you hear more street noise than ocean waves. People tend to go to bed early so the main road tends to calm down at a reasonable hour as well. Rick was the property manager on site and he was fantastic in answering any and all questions. Downtown Lahaina is walking distance. We visited over New Years and found that the beach is all rock, little to no sand, on the property at this time of year. Last time we visited over Thanksgiving and the kids were able to surf off a narrow beach. There is a sandy beach a short walk down the road and many others to drive to and explore.

We had a great time here, private beach to ourselves within walking distance of all the shops and steps away from 3 pools. The amenities were great, 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a full kitchen made it possible for 2 couple to stay here without problems. We loved it and it was much more affordable than a hotel with no kitchen.

It was absolutely perfect in every way. My only suggestion is that you might consider a sitting chair and a full length mirror upstairs in the bedroom. Very comfortable and clean. The location was awesome as was the decor and amenities..Thank You so much.

We had a great experience. The place was awesome and the property was great. We have three kids 5, 4 and almost 2. They loved playing around the property, looking at lizards and banana trees. The liked the beach but, as with a lot of Hawaii, the beach break was too strong for our littlest guy.
You can surf right on the beach here - which was great. Overall we had a great time and loved having a two level place.

The rental was as expected. The property was perfect. We mostly enjoyed the lack of tourist hustle and bustle. Location was perfect for walking into town (Front Street) or jumping on the main thoroughfare for a car ride elsewhere on the island.
